- Got a new Angler of the Year
- Finalized our Top 10
- Got a new location for our monthly meeting
Phew!! That’s a lot to cover .
Let’s “tackle” the tournaments:
Photos are limited, so you’ll just have to take my word on it.
October was originally scheduled for Castaic, but they closed due to their toxic algae bloom. We then rescheduled for Perris, but half of the anglers were “wet” and wouldn’t pass inspection. We finally agreed on Piru. Piru was actually good to us and we broke the stereotype that Piru only had 1 pound fish. The tournament wasn’t without issue though, the wind caused us to have to get of the water early for safety reasons.
November took us to the “Jewel” of the California lakes, Diamond Valley. DVL was tough for some of us, but a shiny diamond to a couple of teams. Who gets a double digit bag in November!
Last but not least, December brought us back to where it started for most of us. Those shore pound days were bitter sweet memories for a lot of us. No words can make the Pudd any better for us. It was a tough day!
After 20 plus years of meeting at Michelangelo’s Pizza, we had to move locations. They didn’t close, but moved across the street and couldn’t conveniently accommodate us any longer. We thank them and miss them dearly. We are currently meeting down the street at Baby Bros pizza, located in the Lowes shopping center off Arrow Highway and the 57 freeway.
Now stop scrolling and give a round of applause for our new Angler of the Year for 2022-2023, David “the Iron Man” Mendez. I’ll have to check, but I think we went wire to wire in First place.
take a look at how the rest of the Top 10 played out.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we will see you in January for the new 2024 season. Be sure to check the 2024 tournament dates and be sure add them to your calendars. 2024 looks to bring us new and improved club changes.
