San Diego, home of many of our favorite fisheries, apparently has a lake with no fish in it…..
The Lake Sutherland Bass had their jaws on lockdown, with only a handful of boats bringing fish to the weigh in. Mother Nature shared her bright orange sun and blues skies, but kept us honest with enough wind to keep our sweatshirts on. The water levels were significantly higher than the prior weeks, but the water clarity had me feeling like Willie Wonka on his chocolate river.
3 of the 9 teams managed to get fish to the weigh in. In 3rd place was team Derrick Y/Joe N with 1 fish at 2.38 lbs. Second place went to team Big Ed/Sherman W with 2 fish for 3.81.
DING DING! WINNER WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER!
First place goes to Team Raul V/Robert T with 3 fish for 8.42 lbs, that included BIG FISH at 3.35 lbs.
Raul’s ear to ear smiles let us all know who’s boat was in the winners circle. What it didn’t tell us was that this was his first finish at the top since joining club. Happy for you and glad to be part of the memory. On a side not….the First place finish got me into the elusive TOP 10!
